This is a message intended for Christian women. Women who have chosen to put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ as the means through which an authentic relationship with the Living God is achieved. If you are not a Christian, then you will either a) be unable understand what I am saying, b) think I am foolish or c) realize that I may be on to something that you’d like to know more about. If you fall under “a” or “b”, I would encourage you to keep on clicking through to the next blog of interest, and I sincerely hope you find what you are looking for. If you fall under the “c” category, stick with me for a while, I think you just might discover this beautiful faith has something of value to offer, bringing you to a life of wholeness.
You may not know me, and my words are probably no different from words you’ve heard many times before, and they are certainly less eloquent, but I’m going to say them to you again, and if you’ve never really listened before, please, please listen now. You are truly, madly, deeply, sacrificially, perfectly, and beautifully loved by your Creator God. The Source of all life totally gets you and is desperate for you to allow Divine Love to wash over you, healing your hurts, forgiving your shame, removing your guilt, restoring your hope, and infusing joy to your spirit.
What’s that you say? I don’t know your situation? If I only knew what you’ve done, where you been, what you think, what you’ve seen, I wouldn’t say that? Think again dear sister. This is what I know, it’s not really about you and what you’ve done or haven’t done, it’s about Jesus Christ and what He has done on your behalf. That’s it. End of story. If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, then you are seen by God as perfect, and treated as such. Not only have your shortcomings (sins) been erased, you have also been given the gift of an intimate relationship with God and all the juicy blessings that come with it.
Because I suspect there are some reading this who just blew past that last part without letting it sink in, I’m going say it again, and this time read it slowly, and then read it again and again until you can start believing it: If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, then you are seen by God as perfect, and treated as such. Not only have your shortcomings (sins) been erased, you have also been given the gift of an intimate relationship with God and all the juicy blessings that come with it.
You can’t do anything more than accept by faith the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross in order to be in God’s favor. This is a mysterious and mystical concept – with rich theological soil to dig though until your fingernails are filthy – but I think that is for another time, and probably another person, to exegete. This is not a cerebral conversation, it is a message straight from the heart of God to the heart of you – the treasured daughter of Divinity.
Some of you are experiencing the opposite. You are among those who have lived a life of grace. You have a hard time grasping the magnitude of what God has done for you through Jesus Christ because you don’t feel like you’ve actually been “saved” out of anything. You have no “addiction” story to tell, no broken home that’s been restored, no bondage that’s been broken. Again I will say that it is not about you – but with a different twist. If your focus is on what God has or has not done for you, you are missing the point entirely. You need to shift your thinking from glorifying the acts of God, such as deliverance and healing, to glorifying the beauty and majesty of who God is. Until you get that difference, you won’t ever fully bask in the life-giving wonder of the mystical connection between God and humanity.
Without that a vital, life-changing relationship with the Source of all Life, your life is but a shadow of the brilliance it could be. If this is you, I encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to stir a deep and passionate hunger for God, and keep asking until you desire nothing more than to experience God’s power working through your life and God’s love on display in your heart. Only then will your longings be fulfilled by a life drenched in the Holy Spirit, and only then will you begin to see how desperately you need a Savior. So for those of you who think you don’t have a story to tell, believe me, you do.
God is passionately pursuing you. God considers you deeply precious. Please dear sister, please hear this. NOTHING you have done can separate you from God’s love when you are in Christ. Your Divine Creator, who knew you before you were born wants nothing more than to be in relationship with you. My words are not sweet and rich enough to convey the magnitude of God’s love and complete acceptance of you. It is a truth designed to be individually experienced through the powerful work of the Holy Spirit – but it requires faith on your part. Please stop living in the half-light of God’s love. Step out into the full saturation of pure light and love that comes from unabashedly and whole-heartedly seeking to know God. You will not be disappointed. You will be astonished by God’s beauty and you will marvel at God’s grace. You will finally know what it feels like to have your deepest desires made complete.
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.Ephesians 3:17-19
And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.Hebrews 10:19-23
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1
He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. Isaiah 61:3
