Ancient Words – Modern Wisdom

The Lord has given me a strong warning not the think like everyone else does. He said, “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life.” Isaiah 8:11

It is astounding how an ancient text can be so timely.

This is election season. The season where truth is hard to find. For one like me, who can so easily see both sides of an issue, it is troubling to say the least.

This is also Epignosis season. The season I’ve set aside to know God deeply. Specifically, to delight in the beauty and excellence of God’s character.

Enter Isaiah:

“Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.”

What perfect advice for election season when conspiracy theories and fear is a driving force.

“Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life.”

What perfect advice for a follower of Christ during an Epignosis season that happens to be taking place during an election season.

I have only one Savior, and He is beautiful and perfect, and He is not running for office, He is already King of Kings and Lord of Lords, no matter the outcome in November.
